Given,

triangle ABC is an isosceles triangle

ab = AC = 30 cm

the length of the altitude from A on BC is 5 cm

A.T.Q.

take point q with Altitude AQ on Bc

then from Pythagorean theorem

(AC)² = (AQ)² + (QC)²

(30)² = (5)² + (QC)²

900 = 25 + (QC)²

(QC)² = 900 - 25

(QC)² = 875

QC = √875

NOW, WE KNOW THAT QC = QB

Therefore ,

BC = √875 × 2
