Let AB = 6units ,, AC= 8units

to find X

X^2  =  AB^2+AC^2

X^2  =  6^2+8^2

= 36 + 64

= 100

X^2 = 100

X = √100

X = 10

therefore , AD = 10units

now area of triangle = 1/2 *base*height

= 1/2*8*6

=  24sq units
