ac-ab=1cm

ac= 1+ab

by Pythagoras Theorem

ac^2=ab^2+bc^2

(1+ab)^2=ab^2 +(7)^2

1+ab^2+2ab= ab^2+49

ab^2-ab^2+2ab=49-1

2ab=48

ab=24

ac=1+ab=1+24=25

cos a=ab/ac=24/25

sin a=bc/ac=7/25

cos a + sin a =7/25+24/25

=7+24/25

=31/25
