Given :- ∆ abc such that p is mid point on ab and q is mid point on ac
To prove :- pq || bc
Proof :- In triangle abc,
since, p is mid point on ab and q is mid point on ac
Therefore, ap = aq — (1)
and bp = cq — (2)
Now, from (1) and (2), we have
ap/bp = aq/cq
Then;
pq || bc ( by converce of Thales theorem )
Hence, proved
