If ABC is a isosceles triangle.and p q are 2 points on equal sides of ab ac. Then,the figure is like this.

Then, AP=AQ BP=QC. Because of ABC AN ISOSCELES TRIANGLE.
Then, If we make angle B C. Then, Angle QBC = Angle PCB. because of ABC is an isosceles triangle.
Then, BP = CQ-Given
Angle QBC = Angle PCB-find
BC = BC-common
So, Triangle QBC is congruent to Triangle PCB.
and BQ = CP-by CPCT
