Given :- triangle ABC ~ triangle XYZ and their areas be respectively 72cm square and 200cm square . if YZ = 10 find BC = ?

Answer :-

we know that, when two ∆'s are similar,

• Ratio of area = Ratio of square of their corresponding sides .

so,

→ ∆ABC area / ∆XYZ area = BC² / YZ²

→ 72 / 200 = BC²/10²

→ 72/200 = BC² / 100

→ 72/2 = BC²

→ BC² = 36

→ BC = 6 (Ans.)
