Given : Triangle  R has an area of 40  square units Salome drew a scaled version of Triangle R and Label it T  using scale factor 1/2

To find : Area of Triangle T

Solution:

scale factor = 1/2

=> Side of Triangle T   = (1/2 )Sides Triangle R

=> Side of Triangle T  / Sides Triangle R = 1/2

Triangle T  ≈  Triangle R

Area of Triangle T /Area of Triangle R   =  ( Side of Triangle T /Side of Triangle R)²

=> Area of Triangle T /Area of Triangle R =   (1/2)²

=> Area of Triangle T /Area of Triangle R =   1/4

=> Area of Triangle T  = (1/4) Area of Triangle R

=> Area of Triangle T  = (1/4) 40

=> Area of Triangle T  = 10

Area of Triangle T  = 10 sq units
