Triangle XYZ has a right-angle at Z.
Angle YXZ = 38 degrees
XZ= 10.4 cm
Calculate the length of YZ .
Give your answer to 3 significant figures .

tan 38°=Perpendicular÷base

From table tan 38°=0.78

0.78=perpendicular÷10.4

0.78×10.4=perpendicular

8.12cm=perpendicular

Hence YZ=8.12cm
