Given Information,

  • ∆ABC ≈ ∆DEF
  • Ratio of their areas is 64 : 121

We know that,

Square of the ratio of lengths of corresponding sides gives the ratio of areas of the similar triangles under consideration.

Mathematically,

Ar(ABC)/Ar(DEF) = ( AB/DE)² = (BC/EF)² = (AC/DF)²

According to the given Question,

Ar(ABC)/Ar(DEF) = 64/121

\longrightarrow (AB/DE)² = (8/11)²

\longrightarrow AB/DE = 8/11

\longrightarrow AB : DE = 8 : 11

Therefore, the ratio of their sides is 8 : 11.
