Given :  Triangles A and B are similar.

Triangle A is smaller than B

Length of A=3cm length of B=6cm.

To Find : By which scale factor of length must you multiply to find the length of a side in triangle B if you know the length of a corresponding side in triangle

Solution:

Ratio of corresponding sides of similar triangle is same

Length of A=3cm length of B=6cm.

=>  Length of   corresponding  side of triangle B / Length of  corresponding side of Triangle A  =   6 /3

=>   Length of   corresponding  side of triangle B / Length of  corresponding  side of Triangle A  = 2

=> Length of   corresponding  side of triangle B  = 2 x Length of  corresponding side of Triangle A

Hence By scale factor of 2 , length must be multiplied to find the length of a side in triangle B if you know the length of a corresponding side in triangle
