Trigonometry:- It is that branch or mathematics which deals with the measurement of angles and the problems allied with angles.

Some trigonometric identities:-

  • Sin²θ + cos²θ = 1

  • 1 + tan²θ = sec² θ

  • 1 + cot²θ = cosec²θ

  • tanθ = sinθ/Cosθ and cotθ = Cosθ/sinθ

  • tanθ × cotθ = 1

Trigonometric ratios of complementary angle

Complementary angles :- Two angles are said to be complementary if their sum is 90° Thus, θ and (90° - θ ) are complementary angles.

  • Sin (90° - θ) = cosθ

  • Cos (90° - θ) = sinθ

  • tan (90° - θ) = cotθ

  • cot (90° - θ) = tanθ

  • sec (90° - θ) = cosecθ

  • cosec (90° - θ) = secθ
