Trucks intended to carry heavy loads have eight tyres instead of four

tyres. Why ?The synthetic fibre A is chemically a polyamide whereas the synthetic

fibre B contains a large number of ester groups. Another synthetic fibre

C is made of a Cellulose which consists of a number of glucose units

joined one after the other.
i) Which fibre could be terylene, rayon and nylon ?
ii) Which fibre (A, B or C) is prepared from the natural raw material ?
iii) Which fibre contains ( A, B or C) the same type of groups as those in
a PET jar ?

Answer:

Trucks intended to carry heavy loads have 8 tyres because by this the surface area is increased, increased surface area helps to reduce the pressure on each individual tyre.

i) A is Nylon and C is Rayon

ii) C, Rayon is prepared from the cellulose present in wood pulp.

iii) B, because fibre B is Polyester and PET is also a form of Polyester.
