Solution:

  • Now we have given the rate as 12% pa and time as 8 months.
  • So Present worth will be:

         PW = (100 x T.D.) / (R x T)

         PW = (100 x 560) / (12 x 8/12)

         PW = Rs. 7000

  • Now the Amount of bill is:

         P.W. + T.D.

         7000 + 560

         7560

r=14

Let present worth be Rs. x. 

Then, True discount = Present worth ×n×rate/100

x \times 8\div 12 \times 14\div 100 = 560

x \times2 \div 3 \times 7 \div 50 = 560

x \times 7 \div 75 = 560

x \div 75 = 80

x = 6000

Now sum due= present worth + true discount

sum due= 6000 + 560=6,560
