Here we have to tell if the statements are true or false

1) Now let the length and breadth be 'L1' and 'B1'

Initial area = L1 × L2

It is given that both the length and breadth are doubled

L2 = 2 L1

B2= 2 B1

New area = L2 × B2

                =2L1 × 2B1

                = 4 × INITIAL AREA

So, the area becomes 4 times .

Therefore the statement is false

2) Side of a square is given 2.5 cm

Area of square = (side)²

                          =2.5 × 2.5

                           = 6.25 cm²

So, this statement is true
