As per second law of thermodynamics, we need to give some external work to transfer heat from lower to higher temperature. The above schematic diagram shows that heat is taken from the sink and it is delivered into the source along with work spent.
Since, we kept our room as closed, it is reasonable to assume that there is minimum heat transfer from inside to outside of the room. From the above, we can clearly understand that (Qsource = Qsink + workdone). which means,the sum of energy(heat) removed from the confined space and the external energy spent to run the compressor is delivered into the room.hence, this cause significant rise in temperature inside the room.
