Nelson Mandela was not born with a hunger to be free. He had freedom in his childhood. He was free to run around the fields in his village. He had the freedom to swim in the clear streams in his village.  He was free to roast meals under the stars and was free to ride the bulls.  

As long as he listened to what his father said and was obedient, he had no issues with the Law of God and Man.  

It was only when he grew up that he realized that this was not what freedom was all about and the freedom he sought was different.

That was when the hunger for freedom in him started.
