Answer:
Let the number of 10 and 20 notes be x and y respectively
So according to the question
=> 10x + 20y = 630 __Eq1
and
=> x + y = 40 __Eq2
In Eq2
==>x=40-y
Sub x= 40-y in Eq1
=>10(40 -y) +20y = 630
=>400 -10y +20y = 630
=>400 + 10y = 630
=>10y= 630 - 400
=>10y= 230
=>y= 230/10
Therefore y= 23
Sub y=23 in Eq 2
=> x + 23 = 40
=> x= 40-23
=> x=17
______________
Hence the total number of
rupee 10 notes are 17
rupee 20 notes are 23
