Try this one.
This is a bit tricky not difficult but tricky...
Swami runs a no-profit no-loss store. A lady came over and bought two beautiful handbags. The total price was Rs. 800
The lady handed Rs 2000 to Swami. He did not have change. So he went over to Sardar's shop next door. Sardar gave him change for Rs 2000.
Swami returned Rs 1200 to the lady. A few minutes later, Sardar came over and said, this is a fake note. Swami checked, and it was indeed fake. So Swami returned the 2000 he had got from Sardar.
What was Swami's loss in this?

Answer:

4000

Step-by-step explanation:

As per the given case described,

Swami gave a 800 rupees bag to the customer lady

Swami also gave the lady a return of 1200 against her fake 2000 rupees

Swami then gave 2000 rupees to the sardar whom he first gave the fake note which he got from lady.

Total loss of Swami would be equal to = 800 + 1200 + 2000 = 4000

Swami's loss in this is ₹ 4000

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of the handbag = ₹ 800

The money given by the lady = ₹ 2000

The balance money returned by Swami to the lady = ₹ 1200

Since, the 2000 rupees note is fake, Swami has to return another 2000 rupees to Sardar.

Thus, the money returned to Sadar by Swami = ₹ 2000

Loss for Swami = Money returned to the lady + Money returned to the Sardar + Cost of the handbag

Loss for Swami = ₹ 1200 + ₹ 2000 + ₹ 800

Loss for Swami = ₹ 3200 + ₹ 800

Therefore, Loss for Swami = ₹ 4000
