A real rainy day it was or perhaps , I should call it a rainy evening, since it had become dark , there should have been light enough to play cricket. A light storm having started . I ran about the house from room to room shutting the windows and fastening the bolts of the doors. I was alone in the house then, preparing for an exam, The other members of the family had gone to a wedding reception.

Having shut myself up, I sat at my writing table and tried to think of a likely topic for the next days exam. But I could not concentrate . The rain came down in torrents , almost with a physical force it slashed urgently the window panes . The sound of falling water drowned all my personal thoughts, just then , went off the supply of electricity I found myself drowned in blackness , and full of shivery down my spine.

They say I am rather romantic, perhaps I get easily excited. but that evening , I did have the strongest experience of my life. i groped in the dark for the torch and somehow found it. but it's battery had run down , and it thickered faintly only for a few second.

I hurried to a window which faced a narrow lane below and threw it open to let in some street lights. I stood for sometimes launching at the cold grills. At once , I saw it ! yes , I distinctly saw How ! The same unruly mass of hair, the tough beard , the same limb in his walk, and the same dark brown shawl wrapped about him. it was my beloved grandpa ! yet he had died last year and had been properly burnt in pyre.

was it a spirit, or had he come back to life again ? it was a rainy night when they took him to the crematorium ?...............I could not help crying out, my beloved grandpa.

The figure looked upon a distant height , fell on its profile and distinctly it seemed to me that there were no eyes in his sockets, but two deep hallows !

For long time, I became unconscious, I don't know , when I came to the sence. The tube light was blazing brightly. I thrilled as I got up, supporting myself against a table. Almost immediately , I heard the sound of a cab as soon as the door bell rang, My parents and brother returned this time. They said , it was all the doing of my romantic mind simply an optical illusion. Although they laughed ☺ at my experience , but how could I deny it ?

Would you believe it felt like i had been to a world tour . My friend had invited me to  her house, but it was not possible for me cause it was rainy that day . Dark cumulonimbus clouds had captured the bright sky . I hung my head and sat silently by the window sill . 

I expected the next day the sky would clear but the sky was still dark and wicked . The telephone signal had gone down and i sat there waiting for the sky the get clear . The very next day i felt i should go. The sky was better and the storm had calmed down . 

I asked my mom's permission and allowed me go today . i jumped like a excited kangaroo and finally boarded a bus .

Unfortunately the bus was totally housefull . A journey in a crowded bus is not liked by me . My friend's house is too far and i assure i have to stand whole day . Luckily i found a passenger getting down and i quickly sat there , but when i saw an old man wrapped in a shawl and it seemed he was sick and he was waiting for an empty seat , i could not keep myself calm and had to get up and offer him my seat . 

I am sure it took 2 hours , but i did n't have my watch with me . The bus was going in a different route i have never been before. I was flabbergasted . What could i do . When the bus left me in a bus stand , i stood astonished and expressionless . Mom had asked me to have my food  before i come , but i thought in a flash i would reach . When i asked the other waiters in the bus stand , i was surprised . i had taken the long route! More hours would pass , but i hired a taxi this time to reach my destination . i felt suffocated travelling in bus . 

How unfortunate i am! I met a traffic jam on the way .  Time passed and i sat there stretched my arms over my head and yawned . Everything was so boring . nothing seemed that interesting when i left .

Finally i reached my friend's colony . When i approached at the get i was  surprised to see that there was a board which read"TO LET" . I fell on my knees . silent tears fell down my cheks . "where my friend has gone? i could n't meet her nor i could talk to her" i thought"now there is nothing to do . stop crying you girl . now you are big enough . get up!~" i scolded myself , but i could n't . still i calmed down and got up . i went to her neighbour and asked them where she had gone . 

I had a little smile in my lips , when i heard that she had nt gone far . its towards the next village . I hired a auto rickshaw to reach her location . By 5 o clock i reached there and stood agog near her door . It seemed ages that i had nt talked to her . i knocked on the wooden door and her mom opened . she warmly welcomed me to her new home . How well furnished it was!

i aksed where Priya was and in reply i hear"she has gone to her aunt house" . now no one could stop me from crying . But its not easy to cry in front of anyone . i was hurrying out when uncle told me to wait.

"sorry uncle, i have nt got any moment"

"dont worry . Priya is upstairs . you are surely going to meet her"


i was surprised when Priya came down the stairs . i was puzzled , but others burst out laughing . i stood there and scratched my head . i couldnt help myself from laughing!
