Tsunami behave as shallow water waves and shallow water waves move at the speed equal to square root of the product of acceleration due to gravity and the water depth

Putting different values to water depth , find different values for the  of  using the equation speed = root g X d

Using these values draw a line graph plotting the different values of water depth on x axis in descending order and speed of waves on y axis

Observe how the graph looks when the waves approach to wards the shore and write your inference.

Given:   Tsunami behave as shallow water waves and shallow water waves move at the speed equal to square root of the product of acceleration due to gravity and the water depth

To find :   draw a line graph plotting the different values of water depth on x axis in descending order and speed of waves on y axis

Solution:

Speed of Wave  =  √g * d

d  =  Water Depth    in m

g = 10 m/s²

Depth m Wave Speed  m/s
