Distribute 1000 in two parts such that one part is 12/13 th of the other.

Let , the two parts be x and y

then, x+y = 1000

but , according to question,

x = 12y / 13

=} y + 12y/13 = 1000

=} 25y/13 = 1000

=} y = 13000/25

=} y = 520.

=} x = 1000 - 520

=} x = 480.

Therefore the two numbers are 520 , 480
