so you can say R1 + R2 =12 cm

the sum of their areas given = 741cm^2

we can write

A1+A2 = 741cm^2

A = πR^2

therefore

A= (πR1^2)+(πR2^2)

taking π common

A= π(R1^2+R2^2)

741cm^2 = 22/7 (R1^2+R2^2)
