Tungsten is used to make bulbs, because of its high melting and boiling point. So, it does not melt easily even if we pass high voltage current through it.
Tungsten has the highest melting point of all the elements, 3422 degree Celsius.

It also has the highest boiling point , 5930 degree celsius. Its high density and hardness give it military applications in penetrating projectiles.
