Explanation:

the best orator, I would blindly select turncoat format. It not only checks an orator's expertise in giving extempore speeches but also her wittiness. Not to forget, on the feet thinking is the most important aspect of this format.

So, before beginning with the revealing of arsenal to win the battel, a quick overview of what a turncoat or famously known as The Devil's Advocate is.

You would be given a topic to speak upon, more or less in an extempore format. The real fun starts when the judge asks you to turn the coat i.e. you have to speak on the same topic but against the stand you initially took. In simple terms you have to flip the sides. The judge can ask you to turn-the-coat at her will or she can define a quantum of time for the same (Though personally, I like the first one). And you have to turn-the-coat till the judge wants or as your event organizer has decided.

Now how to win such an event. Turncoat is never won on how good the content is but always by the way you connect the transitions when you flip the sides. That doesn't mean you can compromise with your content. No! An orator breathes through his words and if they fall weak, death triumphs.

Transitions can and should be witty. You can either make them funny (which is mostly the case) or question the audience on the previous stand.
