Tushar participated in two quizzes.In the first quiz points lost for each incorrect answer is (-3).In the second quiz points lost for each incorrect answer is (-6).He lost a total of 36 points in the first quiz and 60 points in the second quiz. how many incorrect answers did he give in each quiz?​

In an examination (+3) allotted for each correct answer and (-2) for each wrong answer). Student scores 400 marks.

Let him get x correct answers and (150 - x) answers wrong. Equation formed would be:

3x - 2(150- x) = 400

=> 3x - 300 + 2x = 400

5x = 700 therefore x = 140.

Hence the student has answered 140 questions correctly and 10 questions incorrectly.

Let's check:

Correct = 3*140= 420

Wrong = 2*10 = (-) 20

Net marks scored= 400 marks.
