Abe wants to sell artisanal drinks during the holidays. He produces 160 litres of the drink and sells a part of it at 10% profit. He sells the rest of the drink at 6% profit
What quantity of the drink did he sell at 10% profit if he gained 9% profit on the entire 160 litres?​

Answer :- Let us assume that, Abe sells x litre at 10% profit .

so,

  • x litre at 10% profit .
  • (160 - x) litre at 6% profit .
  • Total 160 litre at 9% profit.

then, according to question,

→ x * 1.1 + (160 - x) * 1.06 = 160 * 1.09

→ 1.1x + 169.6 - 1.06x = 174.4

→ 1.1x - 1.06x = 174.4 - 169.6

→ 0.04x = 4.8

→ x = 4.8/0.04

→ x = 120 litre (Ans.)
