Answer:

We can buy only 7 books with the money left 40 rupees in 600 rupees.

Step-by-step explanation:

Books bought for rupees 600: 12

Cost of each book: 600÷12 ( divide 600 by 12 )

= 50

Therefore, cost of each book is rupees 50.

Increase in amount: rupees 30.

Total cost when increased in money: 50+30=80

Therefore, as they are 12 books we have to multiply 12 with 80 we get: 12×80

= 960

As, we have to buy the books with the same 600 we have to subtract it from 960 : 960-600=360.

Now we have to divide 600/80 as the money is increased : 600÷80= 7.5.

Here we get 7.5 so we cannot make book into half so when we approximate we get only 7 books bought same amount from 600 with the left amount rupees 40 .
