let the number be = x

twice a number = 2x

the number decreased by 15 = 2x-15

Twice a number decreased by 15 equals to 25 then the equation

= 2x -15 = 25

2x = 25 + 15

2x = 40

x = 40/2  = 20

This is your answer ...............................:-)
