Solution:

Let the number = x

Twice the number = 2x

Three-fourth of the number =3x/4

According to the problem given,

2x-3x/4 = 15

=> (8x-3x)/4 = 15

=> 5x/4 = 15

=> x = 15 × (4/5)

=> x = 3×4

=> x = 12

Therefore,

Required number (x) = 12

Let the number be x ,

According to problem

2x = 3/4x + 15

2x -3/4x = 15

8x-3x/4 = 15

5x/4 = 15

5x = 15 × 4

5x = 60

x = 60/5

x = 12

Hence the required number is 12.
