To Find : Number

Solution:  

Let say Number is N

Twice of the Number = 2 N

Reduced by 3

2N - 3

Gives 5

=> 2N - 3 = 5

Adding  3 on both sides

=> 2N - 3 + 3 = 5 + 3

=> 2N = 8

Dividing by 2 on both side

=> 2N/2 = 8/2

=> N = 4

Number is 4
