Let the required number be x.

Then, = 2x – 7 = 45

Transposing -7 to RHS and it becomes 7.

= 2x = 45 + 7

= 2x = 52

Multiplying both side by (1/2) = 2x × (1/2) = 52 × (1/2) =

x = 26

∴ The required number is 26.
