Answer:

let the number be x

2(x+3)^2 = 98

Given : Twice the square of the sum of a number and 3 is 98.

To Find: the number

Solution:

Let say number is N

Then 2 (N + 3)²  = 98

=> (N + 3)² = 49

=> N + 3 = ± 7

=> N + 3 = 7  or  N + 3 = - 7

=> N = 4  or  N = - 10

Hence the number is

4 or - 10
