Stars twinkle because it is earth's atmosphere that makes it appear are stars are twinkling. Earth's atmosphere is composed of different layers which causes the star light to bent towards normal so that we can see apparent position of star. Atmosphere is also turbulent causes stars to twinkle when seen from ground
