  • Twinkling of stars is due to the phenomena 'Atmospheric Refraction of star light'.
  • When the starlight enters inside the earth's atmosphere undergoes continous refraction before it reaches, the earth's atmospheric refraction occur in the medium of gradually changing refractive index.
  • Also, the earths atmosphere bends the starlight towards normal so the apparent position of the star is slightly above form its actual position.
