Two a-particles have the ratio of their velocities as 3 : 2 on entering the field. If they move in different circular paths, then the ratio of the radii of their paths is
(a) 2 : 3
(b) 3 : 2
(c) 9 : 4
(d) 4 : 9

As the lorentz force which acts on the particle will acts as centripetal force

∴qvB=

∴r=

Answer:

As we know that

r=mv/qb.

ratio of their velocity. ( 3/2.given)

r1 =mv1/qb

r2= mv2/qb

for ratio

r1/r2= mv1/qb/mv2/qb

r1/r2=v2/v1

r1/r2=2/3

r1 : r2 = 2 : 3.

As particles are same there mass is equal

value of q is same for all

magnetic field (b) is same for both charges
