The story can be as given below.
The winter morning was particularly harsh on the passengers standing to board the train at Kanpur railway station. The place was almost completely covered with smog, making traveling very difficult for fellow passengers. The problem was greater if one's mind wandered all around the globe but the location they were present in.
Aditya and Ram were of similar nature. One look at them and you would be instantly transported back to the colonial era. Both of them gave a perfect idea of how two English-educated young Indians, dressed up in long dark hats and coats, arguing about the political scenario with a fiery passion would look like.
"Mr. Rastogi, I am telling you if the center goes on with this policy, a no-confidence motion is inevitable." Ram pressed on.
"Mr. Mishra, the people are in complete sync with the government. No matter how strong the opposition is, they won't be able to do much." Aditya did not back off.
Aditya Rastogi, a sales manager was supposed to board a train for the capital for his job. His boss was a little concerned over his habit of "wool-gathering." He wanted someone to ensure he reached the place intact. His colleague and dear friend, Ram Mishra had accompanied the man to the station to see him off. This just worried him more as they were like 2 peas in a pod.
The debate continued. This debate at a dirty station platform had more information and elucidations than those held in air-conditioned studios at news centers.
The gentlemen were so immersed in talking about the seeming issues of a country two continents away, that they missed the arrival of the train. It was the horn of departure that shook them up and off they ran to catch it.
They gave their best to run as fast as the train. Mr. Ram seemed to be more anxious that his colleagues and his daily walks helped him to run way ahead and grab the door, and throw himself onto the train.
Aditya Rastogi, whose legs might not know how, but his breath definitely ran out. He gave up and stood there on the platform clutching his knees trying to catch his breath. When he looked up he saw his friend waving frantically at him. The poor lad forgot the infamous chain that can be pulled to stop the vehicle. Happy that his friend at least could board the train, he waved back at him, bidding farewell. His suitcase lying idle on the empty platform was now happily picked up by a small lad, who took off from the platform without wasting a single moment.
