Sum of adjacent sides of parallelogram is 180°

➝ (2a - 5) + (a + 3) = 180°

➝ 3a - 2 = 180°

➝ 3a = 180-2

➝ 3a = 178

➝ a = 178/3

➝ a = 59.34°

Given :

  • Two adjacent sides of the parallelogram = (2a - 5) and (a + 3)

To find :

  • The value of a

Solution :

We know that the sum of the adjacent angles of a parallelogram is 180°.

★ Hence:-

  • (2a - 5) + (a + 3) = 180

→ 2a + 5 + a + 3 = 180

→ 3a + 8 = 180

→ 3a = 180 - 8

→ 3a = 172

→ a = 172/3

a = 57.34

Answer :

  • The value of a is 57.34
