given the length of adjacent sides of the parallelogram are 12cm and 8cm respectively.

Length of the altitude corresponding to side 12cm is 6cm.

area of the parallelogram = base × altitude

= 12 × 6

= 72cm²

area of the the parallelogram will be same, no matter if we take the adjacent side and altitude corresponding to this side.

now let's take the base 8cm.

=> 8 × altitude = 72cm

=> altitude = 72/8

=> altitude = 9cm

hence, the altitude corresponding to side 8cm is 9cm.
