Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are in the ratio 3:6. If smaller side is 45 cm. Find the perimeter of the parallelogram.​

Solution:

Let first side be 3x

Let second side be 6x

Smaller side = 45 cm

=> 3x = 45 cm

=> x = 45/3

=> x = 15 cm

Then,

Second side = 6x = 6 × 15 = 90 cm

Perimeter = 2( a + b )

= 2( 45 + 90 )

= 2 ( 135 )

= 270 cm
