Given :

  • Adjacent angles of a parallelogram are in the ratio of 5:4
  • The perimeter of a parallelogram is 90 cm

To find :

  • Length of the parallelogram

According to the question,

  • Let the ratio be 5x and 4x
  • Perimeter is 90 cm

→ Perimeter of parallelogram = 2(l + b)

  • l stands for Length
  • b stands for Breadth

90 cm = 2(4x + 5x)

→ 90 cm = 8x + 10x

→ 90 cm = 18x

→ 90 ÷ 18 = x

.°. x = 5

____________....

Value of 5x :

5x

→ 5(5)

25 cm

____________....

Value of 4x :

4x

→ 4(5)

20 cm

So,the length and breadth 25 cm and 20 cm...

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Verification :

Perimeter of parallelogram

→ 2( l + b)

→ 2(25 + 20) cm

→ 2(45) cm

→ 90 cm

Hence Verified..!!

The perimeter of the parallelogram is 90 cm.
To find:
The length of the sides of the parallelogram.
Solution:
1) Parallelogram is the polygon in which the opposites sides are equal to each other and parallel to each other.
2) The ratio of the adjacent sides of parallelogram is 5:4.
3) So the length of parallelogram is 5x and breadth is 4x.
Perimeter of parallelogram is 2(L+B) = 2(5x+4x) = 18
4) According to the question the perimeter is 90cm
so,
90x=18
x = 90/18
x = 5
now,
the length of the parallelogram is 5x = 5 *5=25cm
the breadth of the parallelogram is 4x = 4*5=20cm
