Two alloys contain tin and iron in
the ratio of 1: 2 and 2:3. If the
two alloys are mixed in the pro-
portion of 3 : 4 respectively (by
weight), the ratio of tin and iron
in the newly formed alloy is :
(1) 10:21 (2) 13:22
(3) 14 : 25 (4) 12:23

Answer:

13 : 22 IMP.

Step-by-step explanation:

A -> 1 : 2 = 3

B -> 2: 3 = 5

multiply A by 5 & B by 3 to make their quantity equal

A-> 5 : 10 = 15

B-> 6 : 9 = 15

since they are mixed in 3:4 (by weight)

So now multiply A by 3 and B by 4,we get

A-> 15 : 30 = 45

B-> 24 : 36 = 60

so now in new mixture

tin : iron = (15+24) : (30+ 36)

=39 : 66 = 13 : 22

option (b) is correct
