The ratio of the drift velocities of the electron in two wires = 3/2
- Drift velocity = I/neA
- I = emf/ resistance
- Resistance of wire = ρl/A
- Then according to the question,
Vd1 = Emf / (ρl1neA1 /A1)
and,
Vd2 = Emf / (ρl2neA2 /A2)
- On dividing the two equations we get ,
Vd1 / Vd2 = l2 / l1
Vd1 / Vd2 = 3/2
