The ratio of the drift velocities of the electron in two wires = 3/2

  • Drift velocity = I/neA
  • I = emf/ resistance
  • Resistance of wire = ρl/A
  • Then according to the question,

Vd1  =   Emf / (ρl1neA1 /A1)  

and,

Vd2  =   Emf / (ρl2neA2 /A2)

  • On dividing the two equations we get ,

Vd1 / Vd2 = l2 / l1

Vd1 / Vd2 = 3/2
