X + Y = 90°

&

X - Y =42°

where, x & y be the angles & x>y

now,

x = y + 42

so,

(y + 42)  + y = 90  \\ or \: 2y + 42 = 90 \\ or \: y = 24

Therefore,

x = (y + 42) = (24 + 42)  \\ x = 66
