let angles be x and y
x+y=180 x= 180-y
3x=y+140
3(180-y)= y+140
540-3y= y+140
400=4y
y=100
x=180-y
180-100=80

the answer is here,

Let the smaller angle be x. Then the larger angle will be 3x-140.

The angles are supplementary, So

=> x+3x-140 =180.

=> 4x-140 =180

=> 4x=180+140 =320.

=> x=320/4 =80.

So, The smaller angle => 80.

Larger angle => 3 (80)-140

=> 240-140

=> 100.

:-)Hope it helps u.
