Let the angle be x

So, its supplementary angle will be x / 3

Sum of supplementary angles is 180°

According to the given condition

x + x / 3 = 180

☛ 3x + x/3 = 180

☛ 4x/3 = 180

☛ x = 180 × 3/4

☛ x = 135

∴ The angle ☛ x

\boxed{\boxed{\tt{135^{\circ}}}}

∴ The supplementary angle

☛ 135/3

\boxed{\boxed{\tt{45^{\circ}}}}

\underline{\mathfrak{\huge{The\:Question:}}}

Two angles are supplementary. If one of them is one third of the other, find the angles.

\underline{\mathfrak{\huge{Your\:Answer:}}}

Let one angle be = x

The other angle will be = \sf{\frac{1}{3}x}\\

\underline{\tt{Supplementary\:Angles:}} The angles which have their sum equal to 180° are called supplementary angles.

According to the information :

\sf{x + \frac{1}{3}x =180}\\

Solve it further

=》 \sf{\frac{3x + x}{3} = 180}\\

Some more steps to go

=》 \sf{4x = 540}\\

Divide 540 by 4

=》\sf{x = \frac{540}{4}}\\

Last one step for the answer

=》 x = 135°

Now, the other angle = \sf{\frac{135}{3}}\\

=》 45°
