Two angles are said to be supplementary if their sum is 180°.
If both are acute (each one less than 90°) their sum will be less than 180°. Hence if both the angles are acute, they can't be supplementary.
If both are right angles (i.e., each angle = 90°), their sum obviously is equal to 180°. Hence if both angles are right they are supplementary.
If both are obtuse angles (i.e., each angle > 90°), their sum obviously is more than 180°. Hence if both angles are obtuse they are cannot be supplementary.
