Let one angle be x°.

⇒ the second angle = 1/4 x°.

Sum of angles of a linear pair = 180°.

⇒ x + $\frac{1}{4}$x = 180

⇒ $\frac{5}{4}$x = 180

⇒ x = 180 × $\frac{4}{5}$

⇒ x = 36 × 4

⇒ x = 144°

∴ ∠1 = x = 144°

∠2 = 1/4 x = 1/4 × 144 = 36°
