Question :–

Two angles forming a linear pair are ___

Answer :–

Two angles forming a linear pair are 180°.

Example :–

Let's take 2 angles of any degree.

Like :-

  1. 1st angle = 120°
  2. 2nd angle = 60°

So,

∠1 + ∠2 = 180°

[Linear Pair]

120° + 60° = 180°

Two angles forming a linear pair are supplementary.

  • A pair of angles is said to form a linear pair of angles, when the two angles are adjacent, and are formed after two lines intersect.
  • Consider, for example, two line segments AB and CD intersecting at a point O. Then, angles AOD and DOB will be adjacent angles, and will be a linear pair.
  • It can be seen that such angles will add up to 180°. So, the sum of angles of a linear pair is always 180°.
  • Since supplementary angles are defined as the two angles whose sum is equal to 180°.
  • Therefore two angles in a linear pair will be supplementary.
