QUESTION :- Two angles in a linear pair are in ratio of 1:2. Find the value of x.

ANSWER:-

Let x be the angle.

The sum of angles in a linear pair is 180°.

So ATQ =>>

x + 2x = 180°x+2x=180°

3x = 180°3x=180°

x = \frac{180}{3} °x=3180°

x = 60°x=60°

Thus the two angles are :-

1x = 60°

2x = 120°

[NOTE :- THE BIGGER ANGLE IS 120°]

Answer:

Option (A) is correct.

Two supplementary angles are in the ratio 1:2

So, let two angles be x and 2x

Given that, angles are supplementary

∴x+2x=180

o

⇒3x=180

⇒x=

3

180

o

⇒x=60

o

Therefore, bigger angle is 2x=120
