Question: Two angles whose measures are and b such that 2a - 3b = 60° then 5b = ? If they form linear pair .

Solution:

2a - 3b = 60° {Given} -------------------(i)

a + b = 180° {As they form a linear pair} ------------------(ii)

a = 180° - b

2*(180°-b) - 3b = 60°

=> 360° - 2b - 3b = 60°

=> 360° - 60° = 5b

=> 300° = 5b

=> b = 60°

a = 180°-60°

a = 120°

Ans: The angles are a = 120° and b = 60°.

5b=300 this is done by using liner equation in two variables
